PE GCSE horse riding (skills list included) 2010


My pe GCSE horse riding here is the dressage skills list i was given for the 10 bracket: please comment and rate! (i added the jumping, leg yield and countercanter and if you want the full list including groundwork/ what they are looking for when marking you just message me :) SKILLS LIST -walk -sitting trot -rising trot and knowledge of diagonals. -canter -transitions showing knowledge of aids for increase and decrease of pace. -school movements . – trotting poles -light seat over trotting poles -Show knowledge of the 5 phases of the jump, and jump a small cross pole -Walk, trot and canter without stirrups. -Jump a 2ft 3ins track -Show shortening and lengthening. – ride in a double bridle. – ride with contact and on the bit. –show lateral movements: -Turn on the forehand from the halt, – half pirouette at the walk -rein back. -leg yield -counter counter -flying change spider: 16.3 chesnut gelding ex speed/show jumper. We have been re schooling him to be riden calmly as he had many problems with trust, headshyness, bucking, bolting etc. when i first got him It has taken almost a year but he has improved so much and to all those people who said we should ‘beat it’ out of him or that he should be shot. HA. look at him now. but we still have to be careful who handels him and are continuing to work on it. Thank you! (I DO NOT OWN ANY MUSIC USED)

    loz I’m 12, and I’m ready 2 do my GCSEs in riding (well, P.E!)!!!! My friend told me that i would be capable of doing them, but i thought she was just being nice, until i saw this, and she was right! =D

    hi am jst a few things in sittin trot u should relax ur legs let them hang…turn on the fore hand was good jst needed to get him on the bit and ur flyin so wat i wud do is do one step and ask for the head to come down and then ask to move again and so on … and same in rein back and sometimes he is below the virtical and so he is avading working his musels other than that good job :)

    i didn’t know you could do riding as part of the pe gcse but i havn’t done most of the lateral movements with my mare apart from rein back and flying changes and i don’t have a double bridle. :) oh, well.

    I was going to comment that the only thing I could see wrong was your pointy downy toes but having read about your knee injury I can’t spot anything =P Haha! You’re a really talented rider and this vid is super helpful to anyone else wanting to learn/practice these movement or do horses riding for GCSE pe!

    @withintemptationrock They’re two individual sports. I had to do an individual sport and a team sport… Unless you’re doing full course, then you need two of each :P

    I had everything on this list except trotting poles, leg yield, counter canter and flying changes. Good thing really, considering he can’t do changes and get confused about what you want when you ask for leg yield :P
    My result was an A (including exam and my team sport) what did you get?
